Parallels has launched its newest version for Mac, the Parallels Desktop 5 which boasts of being smarter, faster and much more powerful than its previous version. It costs about $79.99 and the upgrade comes to around $49.99. They are also offering free upgrades for customers who had purchased the current version after October 1.
This latest virtualization software enables users to run Linux, Windows and other operating systems as well on their Macs. It works in both Snow Leopard and Leopard. It has complete Aero support in Windows 7 and in Windows Vista. The enhanced Transporter is provided to increase the speed of renovating an individual PC in the virtual machine of Parallels.
With the Desktop 5, you can zoom easily; copying and pasting formatted text is much easier in all the operating systems. It is reported that the quality of graphics performance and the three – dimensional applications in games has vastly improved and it is said to be 300 times faster in performance than the previous software.
There is also a viewing mode called the crystal view which allows the desktop in Windows to become transparent and there are other viewing modes which will peel away each layer to show the Mac operating system beneath.
