Going by the reaction of some experts, despite the fact that the newly-released Motorola Droid boasts a number of enticing features, users of the popular Apple iPhone may actually decide to stick to their existing smartphone, rather than go in for the latest Verizon offering!
The hi-tech wizardry notwithstanding, the Droid might still not be able to match the notable ‘compatibility’ factor of the iPhone – seemingly not in the near future at least. The Google Android operating system of the Droid has yet to establish itself as a standard for comparison among smartphones.
With the iPhone being something like a ‘PC of smartphones,’ the potential ‘iPhone killers’ thus far have neither been able to offer any substantial competition to the Apple device nor have they reached competitively close to the height of its popularity.
Even though the new Droid is apparently an enviable handset to posses, it comes with a fairly high monthly bill, which is almost at par with the iPhone - costing nearly $2,400 for a two-year service contract. As such, most of the users just might prefer to stick to the iPhone rather than opt for the Droid!
According to reports, there is hardly any over-enthusiasm about the recently-released Droid – and long queues of prospective buyers outside are notably missing outside both the Verizon store and the Best Buy one!
