Telstra has confirmed that the company's current Chief of Consumer Relations, David Moffatt would be leaving by the end of November. His place will be taken by Glenice Maclellan, appointed by the firm internally. After serving for 8 long years, Moffatt, who is currently 49, handed in his official resignation in September. The board had then said that he was to remain with Telstra until a fit successor is found.
On Monday, Chief Executive David Thodey confirmed that Mclellan, who had been serving in Telstra Consumer as the Executive Director of Category Marketing and Operations since 2006, would take Moffatt's position effective immediately.
Although Mclellan would be given the position immediately, Moffatt would remain with the company till November end to help with the transition. Behind the resignation was Moffatt's thought that "a new generation of leaders to be given the chance to take the business into its next phase of growth".
Post the announcement, Telstra shares rose by two cents to stand at a new figure of $3.22.
