Chief Executive of Sonova Holdings AG, a leading Switzerland based hearing aid maker, Valentin Chapero has recently revealed the company's plans to double the sales of the Advanced Bionics Corporation in the coming 3-5 years, post the acquisition.
"We also plan to increase the Ebita margin of Advanced Bionics to 20% or beyond in that period", shared Chapero.
Manufacturing some of the world's most popular and highly used cochlear implants, Advanced Bionics has been a much profitable unit, except that last year saw it finally crunching under the financial downfall. For the 2008 fiscal year, the company recorded sales worth $117 Million and negative earnings.
In a deal which would cost Sonova $489 Million, the company will be buying America based Advanced Bionics Corp., an arrangement which is being viewed as a much positive development. Now everyone is waiting for Sonova's report on the first-half figures for the 2010 fiscal year.
