One of the world's largest and top ranked satellite service providers, Dish Network Corp., has posted 12% drop in earnings for the July-September period for the current year. Although the growth has seen a surge in the number of subscribers, revenue and earnings seem to have dropped.
As confirmed by the reported posted by the company on Monday, the net profit figure stood at $81 Million, or 18 cents per share, which is significantly lower than the figure of $92 Million, or 20 cents a share, posted for the same period last year. Revenue also saw a 1.5% fall to $2.89 Billion.
The actual figures have been much lower than the estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters, which pegged the per share price at 43 cents and a revenue of $2.93 Billion.
All, however, is not bleak for the company as for the said quarter, Dish managed to add 241,000 members to its subscriber’s base. The firm's total registered customer base now stands at 13.9 million.
