After a rather long wait spanning nearly two years, Activision’s brand-new “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” finally hit store shelves on Tuesday; and shattered all the earlier records pertaining to the opening-day sales of an entertainment property!
Going by the preliminary statistics, the first-day sales figures of the newly-released game stood at a whopping $310 million in North America and the UK alone; thereby surpassing the earlier first-day sales record of $310 million worldwide – a feat that “Grand Theft Auto IV” achieved in May last year.
A sequel to “Call of Duty 4,” the new “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” features a Russian-radicals’ group that somehow convinces that the Russian government the US has supported a series of terrorist attacks in the country. As a result, Russia makes a surprise move and invades the US; thereby leaving the players to defend the US and unearth the culprits.
Boasting incredibly spectacular graphics, all the levels of “Modern Warfare 2” – developed at Activision’s Infinity Ward studio - has been crafted and designed so attractively that the players tend to get fully engrossed in the plot.
In addition, the AI of the game, which is available in single-player and multi-player modes, has also been updated to provide the players with a rich and more authentic combat experience!
