Sprint has officially launched its $100 entry-level Palm Pixi, a webOS platform based Smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.6 inch multi-touch screen. The Pixi is a smaller, more handy version of the Palm Pre.
The new Smartphone, which has the capability of running various applications simultaneously, offered combined messaging, linked contacts, layered calendars’ and makes access to the Palm Application Store easier and quicker. A distinct feature of the Pixi is that lets users access non-mobile sites as well, offering full scrolling and zooming.
On the company's official blog, the phone has been described as a "sleek Smartphone" and an "incredibly sexy piece of hardware". "Palm Pixi is the newest webOS phone, packing in features like Palm Synergy, an exposed keyboard and a vivid multi-touch screen, along with compatibility with Touchstone connectionless charging", the post reads.
With a 2 mega pixel camera with LED flash and automatic data backup service, the Pixi seems to be an attractive Smartphone for people who are looking for a small, easier to carry around package deal. However, there is one drawback; the phone does now support Wi-Fi connectivity.
