Following the HDMI upgrade to its Eee Box line with the B204 and B206 models, Asus has added yet another update to its Web site - a Celeron-based B203.
The cost of the latest update was not available on Asus' Web site Sunday night, with the announced processor change it is expected to drop from the Eee Box cost of $350 to around $240, which will allow the small form-factor desktop to better compete with similarly low-cost desktops and laptops.
The basic change in B203, in comparison to original Eee Box B202, is its budget-minded feature - Celeron 220 CPU. The chip replaces the Intel Atom chip that currently dominates the line.
Moreover, by offering a 120GB and 160GB version - in addition to the 80GB offered in previous versions - Asus has also increased the hard-drive options in B203. Though Asus recommends Windows Vista, the Nettop runs Windows XP Home.
The B203 comes with four USB ports, a flash card reader, a DVI output, and Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity.
