Nearly $80,000 owed by Schwarzenegger, says IRS

The latest public records show that a federal tax lien against Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been filed by the Internal Revenue Service for nearly $80,000.

It was on 11th May when the lien was filed at the Los Angeles County recorder's office for $79,064, says a record in an electronic database that includes lien filings. No indication regarding the property, on which the lien was filed, was given by the record; however it lists the debtor as Arnold Schwarzenegger with the governor's home address in Brentwood.

Celebrity News website TMZ. com informed about the lien this morning along with posting of a lien document that specifies that it is from the county recorder's office. As per the document, sum of $39,047.20 is owed by Schwarzenegger from 2004 and $40,016.80 from 2005. Furthermore, the document also includes a section of the IRS code, which informs the debt might be penalties for a failure to report certain business transactions.

The governor was told to have paid his taxes in full and on time by Schwarzenegger's spokesman, Aaron McLear in a statement.

McLear explained, "No one, including the IRS, has notified the governor of any issues whatsoever with his taxes."
