HP ProBook 5310m notebook Review

HP’s pioneer in the M-series product - the ProBook 5310m notebook PC - flaunts an extremely attractive body with an aluminium lid and glossy chassis, supported on the inside by a matte display; HP QuickWeb and QuickLook 3 for speedy accessibility to information.

While the striking outer appearance gives the notebook a premium look for the business executive, its 13.3-inch LED backlit display not only helps reduce power consumption, but also gives the users sharp and bright images for routine office computing.

The key features of the HP ProBook 5310m includes a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor; an Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics chip; 2GB of DD3 memory; a 320GB Serial ATA II hard drive; 2-megapixel webcam; and a dual-microphone for enhancing video-conferencing.

For connectivity, the options the notebook boasts include a memory card reader; three USB ports; a LAN port; and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Some of the handy HP business tools of the notebook include 3D DriveGuard and ProtectTools. While the former shields the hard disk against sudden shocks, the latter is a store of security tools for data encryption, access controls, theft recovery and file shredding.

However, a few glaring drawbacks of the HP ProBook 5310m may hinder its adoption by some users. The key miss-outs include the lack of fingerprint sensor; integrated VGA output; and TPM security chip; along with a lackluster battery life!
