British bus and rail operator National Express announced Wednesday that it has appointed the boss of Tube Lines Dean Finch as its chief executive.
A veteran transport professional Mr. Finch will shoulder the new responsibility in the spring next year.
National Express had been searching for a CEO since July when its former CEO Richard Bowker left the company.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Finch said, “I am looking forward to strengthening all parts of the group, fostering a culture of operational excellence enabling us to deliver real shareholder value.”
Before joining Tube Lines in May this year, Mr. Finch served rival bus and rail operator FirstGroup for over 10 years.
Recently, the company has completed a £360 million rights issue to trim down its debt.
National Express has also shunned takeover bids from Stagecoach and FirstGroup.
