Looks like another version of the Sony PSP is apparently on the cards – what with a print advertisement in the UK industry magazine MCV inadvertently leaking the news of a brand-new PSP-
4000!
The 4gamers’ advert brags about a LittleBigPlanet starter pack, thereby announcing that the package will be available for various PSP versions, including the PSP-1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 and the PSP Go.
While Sony is currently selling the PSP-1000, 2000, 3000, and the PSP Go versions, the PSP-4000 has thus far been unheard of. Though it is plausible that the advert contains a printing error, there is also a strong likelihood that the new model, which will probably use a UMD drive, may well be coming.
Going by the so-to-call ‘idle conjecturing,’ since the PSP Go is a disc-less device, there would hardly be any reason the existing users of the device will go in for an upgrade, more so because an upgrading would make the already purchased games unusable.
However, with downloading of games undoubtedly appears to be a near-future option, a PSP Go with UMD capabilities might actually be a practically useful device!
