Elton John and Eminem are as opposite to each other as they could possibly be, and after coming together years ago for the chart topper "Stan", these two were not seen around each other much. But now, both these ikons of the music fraternity, in their own unique ways, have joined hands and not for music. John is helping Eminem battle a serious drug addiction.
Over the past 18 months, the rapper is being helped by John and he is reportedly "doing brilliantly".
Early in May 2009, Eminem had admitted that he is dealing with a drug issue, which had gotten so bad that he was taking "up to 20 Vicodin, Ambien and Valium within a day".
"The numbers got so high. I don't even know what I was taking", the rapper was quoted as admitting in an interview.
Elton John, who has been very public about his own drug problems, recently confessed in an interview that they made him "arrogant and cocky".
"I'm there if people want my help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there's no point advising people if they don't want to do it", he said, and that is exactly what Eminem did. And the duo seems to be working pretty well together.
