The fiasco of the CO2 sniffing Orbiting Carbon Observatory could not damp the spirits of the U.S. space agency NASA. Yes, the space agency is now gearing up for Kepler Mission, which is named in honor of Johannes Kepler.

It was a nightmare for NASA on Tuesday, when its Orbiting Carbon Observatory satellite, which was designed to measure carbon dioxide levels around the Earth, failed to reach orbit. The fiasco of $280 million mission was a major setback to the space agency.

It's still uncertain when the space shuttle Discovery will actually be launched.

On Tuesday, NASA will launch its Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
