Toyota Issues Recall

Toyota confirmed that it is planning to recall almost 138,000 Lexus cars due to engine related problems that could also lead to stalling in some cases. It has also informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to file an official Defect Information Report to initiate a recall of the cars affected with this problem.

In another line of recalls, Toyota Motor Corp has decided to recall as many as 270,000 sedans. These recalls will be done on a worldwide basis and will be for the Lexus sedan brand. The cars are in the luxury segment and the recalls have happened because of faulty engines in the batches of Lexus.

Production of Toyota’s new car, Auris Hybrid has started in Derbyshire. The Japanese Company has said that Auris is the first mass-produced Hybrid car of Europe and availed 400 jobs at the Burnaston plant.

Other hybrid version of Toyota models were made in Japan and U.S., but this is the first to be manufactured in the UK.
