Freescale’s new silicon targeting sub-$200 netbook market

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week will see the launch of new silicon for notebooks - Freescale Semiconductor's ARM chip architecture-based i. MX51 processor, for netbooks that would cost less than $200.

LG’s wristwatch-style phone to debut at CES

The LG GD910, likely to make its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January, is a wristwatch-style, Wi-Fi-enabled phone! Though LG is exhibiting it as the first 3G HSDPA wristwatch phone, SMS Technology - which is an Australian company - had, earlier in the year, launched the M300 cellphone watch priced at $300.

MGM to sell Treasure Island to Ruffin for $775 million

Following months of quiet discussions with potential buyers of some of its properties, cash-strapped casino operator MGM Mirage has agreed to sell its Treasure Island Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip to Ruffin Acquisition LLC for $775 million.
