Health-Care Debate to be Revived Once Again

With the issue of health-care reform coming to almost a stop in the Congress, and meeting of the Democrats and Republics, it is now time to try and revive the topic which might revolutionize the country's health-care system forever.

The Democrats seem to be more focused on cutting down the number of people who are uninsured, thereby effectively marching towards the goal of universal coverage. The Republicans, on the other hand, view the Democrats' proposal as "unacceptably costly", and also, they oppose the prospect of "greater Government control".

In addition, the Republicans are blaming the Democrats as threatening the most expensive Government program, Medicare.

Also, with the country's five largest health-insurance firms increasing their profits by a whopping 56% overall, over the past year, the criticism of the industry as a whole has managed to intensify manifolds.

"At a time when the economy's in the toilet, and businesses are struggling, these insurance companies have a banner year -- the biggest year on record", said Richard Kirsch, national campaign manager for Health Care for America Now.
