Porsche Approves the Development of 918 Spyder

Porsche has declared its plans to carry on with the development of a plug-in Porsche 918 Spyder. The car will be built in Germany.

The project got the nod from the board of the Company. A great response from the customers as well as the public was cited as the main reason for the approval.

Porsche has promised to deliver a good performance and would also fuel economy in the latest model.

The car will have 500-horsepower V8. The renowned carmaker had unveiled the concept at the Geneva Motor Show this spring.

The two-seater car will have the highest speed of 198 miles per hour. Another remarkable feat is that it can reach 60 from 0 in just 3.2 seconds.

The company has revealed that in these 3.2 seconds, the car would emit only 70 g/km of CO2. Porsche has not revealed the method in which it achieved these emission figures.

However, getting those levels would need electrical energy.

The cost of the car has not been unveiled yet but it would definitely be costlier than the Tesla. Spyder is equipped with four modes that range from electric to “race”.

Sources reveal that a minimum of 1,000 people are keen on getting their hands at the model. But, the model is said to have a super limited edition such as the Carerra GT.
