Ban Should Be Imposed On Smoking ‘On Screen’

Recent reports have revealed that people are getting more attracted towards the evil of smoking, with the influence that television puts on them. As many as 13,000 people die annually due to diseases related to smoking in Scotland alone.
According to a research conducted by a team from the University of Bristol, it has been revealed that children get very influenced by the smoking portrayed on television and this is how they seem to take up the habit for themselves in day-to-day lives.
This study was conducted on 5, 000 youngsters and it was found that they are of the tender age when anything glamorous and stylish would interest them, tempt them and lure them into trying these things in their lives.
Children get attracted by the so called ‘cool’ characters of the firm and television industry and this makes them try anything and everything to become cool themselves. Not just their habits, they want to copy their looks as well, and do anything they can to look as stylish as their favorite stars.
This is the reason it is essential to put a ban on smoking on television as well. This is to make sure a good example is set for the kids to follow.
