Asteroid Scare For The Year 2040
It has been recently revealed according to a news report that there is a scare of an asteroid hitting the planet earth by the year 2040. This is a huge 460 foot asteroid which, if hits the earth, might tend to have disastrous consequences.
The NASA however is of the view that there is no need for panicking, as the issue is not as bad as it seems. It was in January 2011 that the Asteroid Armageddon was discovered, with the use of a telescope at the Mt. Lemon of Tucson. It was further added that the asteroid is not even visible in the day time, and this is because of its position in the day time.
There is a very minor chance that it might hit the earth in the year 2040. This is because of the orbits of both, the earth and the Asteroid. This is why the cancer of its hitting the earth is very minuscule and the NASA says there is hardly any reason to worry.
"In September 2013, we have the opportunity to make additional observations of 2011 AG5 when it comes within 91 million miles (147 million kilometers) of Earth. It will be an opportunity to observe this space rock and further refine its orbit”, said Don Yeomans, the Manager for NASA's Near-Earth Object Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.
There is need for further research to be conducted in this matter, before a final outcome can be given on how bad the impact might be in the time to come, and if there is need for any special precautions to be made. It remains to be seen what steps are taken by the NASA in this matter.
