The New ‘Steam Box’ Set to Roll
It has been recently revealed in a report that the digital game distribution company Valve has started work on their ‘SteamBox’ that shall be a rival to the PS3 and the Xbox 360, in the time to come. It is going to be an all new high tech gaming system that shall come with set top box facility for the functioning of the same.
It has further been added that it is going to be an open platform method, which shall work with custom as well as standard PC hardware. The custom design shall be from Valve software and it shall work according to an open spec design. It was revealed that it shall use Intel core i7 as its processor system, and shall have NVIDIA graphic technology with 8GB RAM available on it.
It was further added that it shall have analog sticks as well as a host of new buttons for controlling the gaming, and making it all the more interesting. The gaming mode shall be one much awaited one because there is such high competition in the market these days. People from all age groups are currently crazy about gaming and it is like a worldwide rage for teenagers and youngsters. This new type of gaming might mean a whole array of new activities being made available to people.
“We’d rather hardware people that are good at manufacturing and distributing hardware do [hardware]. We think it’s important enough that if that’s what we end up having to do, then that’s what we end up having to do”, said co-founder Gabe Newell, the co-founder of Valve. It remains to be seen how people respond to this new gaming mode in the time to come, and whether it is able to get the sort interest it is looking for.
