People Getting Infected by MERS
Middle East respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is a virus which is related to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
According to new reports, it has been revealed that people are being getting affected by infected animals with a deadly new MERS virus. Virus samples of 21 patients have been taken for analyzing their genes. About 135 people were diagnosed with the MERS virus and around 61 people died because of being affected by this virus.
Health experts are worried about the spread of this virus as it resembles SARS, which spread threat worldwide in 2003, leading to death of about 800 patients.
Coronaviruses are the members of family of viruses, which affect most of the mammals. Common cold is the most common symptom caused when mammals get affected by this coronavirus.
MERS became popular the previous year. It is a deadly virus which killed even those persons who were perfectly healthy. MERS has been proved worst for those people who were already suffering from diabetes and kidney diseases.
Matthew Cotton of Britain's Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Ziad Memish of the Saudi Health Ministry said: "Human-to-human transmission of MERS has been documented in England, France, Tunisia, Italy, and Saudi Arabia".
