Trump praises Saddam Husseinâ€™s ability to kill terrorists
Donal trump, the presumptive presidential Republican nominee, has praised late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein for his effectiveness in handling terrorist in the Middle East.
He called Hussein a "really bad guy" with some redeeming qualities when it came to killing terrorist. Trump said of Hussein that he did not talk to them about their rights and did not talk to them at all. He described Iraq as 'Harvard for terrorism' and said that anyone wants to be a terrorist looks for travelling to the country.
Trump was accompanies by vice presidential hopeful Bob Corker, a Republican senator from Tennessee. Corker said he did not plan to say anything yet, while on stage before Trump, who spoke for about 70 minutes. Corker stood in the stage and backstage and gave a small wave to the crowd only after Trump was set to finish his work.
Jake Sullivan, the Clinton campaign's senior policy adviser, said that the comments from the Republican nominee show that he is dangerous. He also criticised him for his praise of the brutal strongmen and said that Hussein's regime was a sponsor of terrorism, which even paid families of suicide bombers to carry out attacks including on Israelis.
