Analyst: iPhone 7 will be packaged with EarPods which use Lightning connector
According to recent reports from 9to5Mac, MacRumors, and AppleInsider, KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo has shared the latest bit of information about Apple's next-generation iPhone, likely to be called iPhone 7, hours ahead of the expected official unveiling of the handset at a September 7 event in San Francisco.
In a recently-released note, Kuo has revealed that iPhone 7 will likely come packaged with EarPods which will use a Lightning connector.
The disclosure by Kuo comes against the backdrop of a number of earlier reports and online rumors which have almost established the fact that Apple will give the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack a miss on iPhone 7.
In addition to disclosing that iPhone 7 will apparently come bundled with EarPods, Kuo has also said in his note that Apple is also working on its own wireless technology which it plans to use for a higher-end set of headphones.
With indications from trademark filings revealing that Apple's wireless headphones will probably be called AirPods, Kuo said in his note: ". Apple will have its own-designed Bluetooth-like communication chip, given its higher requirements for power-saving, communication specs, and potential rapid growth of Bluetooth headphone shipments."
