Protestors demonstrate against Trump at California Republican Convention
Several hundreds of demonstrators reached the California Republican Convention on Friday against Donald Trump ahead of his speech at the event.
Some of the protestors wore masks on their faces and carried Mexican flags and blocked the road in front of the Hyatt Regency forcing the Trump's motorcade to halt along a concrete median outside the hotel's back entrance. Trump and his aides got down from the vehicles and walked into the hotel building.
At appoint of time before his arrival, several protesters tried to rush barriers near the hotel but police officials rushed to the building's doors and prevented the protesters from getting inside. Some of the doors were locked with handcuffs so that they could not be forced open by the protestors. The police also had to use batons to push back protestors.
Trump said, "That was not the easiest entrance I've ever made. It felt like I was crossing the border." After his arrival, the protesters took down a barrier and filled theentrance outside the hotel and police blocked their entrance to the hotel.
Burlingame Police Lt. Jay Kiely said on Friday that five people were arrested.
